MATRIX FUN FOODS is a third generation family run business starting in 1943. Our roots in the Ice-Cream industry can be traced back to the City of Thessalonica, Greece. We operated a small manufacturing operation and retailed ice-cream at festivals and sporting events. When arriving in Australia in 1965 we continued the family tradition and began manufacturing and retailing Ice-Cream. We are well renowned as the early pioneers of the 'Mr Whippy' concept through the mid 60's in Australia. During that time we've built an enviable reputation for our professionalism and quality of service. Our speciality is now mobile Ice-Cream and FUN FOOD catering, as we trade at many shows, events, private functions and at sites throughout Australia.
We are the performance benchmark throughout the evolution of the Mobile Ice Cream vending industry with our new and modern vans, innovative ideas and attitude. We were the first Australian mobile Ice-Cream business to fully design and build a mobile Smoothie & Juice Van. We also were the first to introduce a healthy option menu with Low Fat Soft-Serve, Fat Free Gelato and health drinks.
Recently in conjunction with 'Nestle Peters' we had the privilege of being part of the Commonwealth Games Queen's Baton Relay tour which covered well over 20,000km around Australia.
Currently we have a staff of 10 that have all undergone rigorous Food Handling training and are either Accredited Food Handlers or Certificate IV Food Safety Supervisors.
Our Ice-Cream Vans are award wining units having recently won the 2005/2006 Melbourne Bayside Healthy Food Awards. All vans have Mobile Food Registration Certificates and are also registered with the Victorian Food safety Program. Our safety food handling procedures are regularly updated by a professional Process Engineer.
We also have a Public Liability Policy which covers us against Personal Injury & Damage to Property to a value of $20,000,000.
